Named in honor of Ron Melville’s mother, Verna’s vineyard in Los Alamos is 100% estate and is a combination of five clones: 76, 95, 96, Mount Eden and Hudson. Yields were 2.6 lbs/plant (1.9 tons/acre) and were harvested by hand then gently whole-cluster pressed, cold settled overnight and transferred by gravity to barrel for fermentation in neutral (5 to 12 year old French oak), partial malolactic (±15%) and subsequent sur lie aging without any lees disturbance.

Tasting Notes: A golden-green hue glistens brightly with opulent citrus elements of lemon peel and orange blossom. Other scents of yellow fruits such as cassava and pluot mix with decadent hints of magnolia, white cake batter, kettle corn and brown butter. A subtle hint of pebbles and pineapple basil flows in the
background. On the palate the wine is rich and fleshes out these nuances more comprehensively giving
it ample weight but remains vibrant and fresh.
